  • Seed quality and seed purity are critical to top performing crops. Spangler's AgVenture has 70 years experience and integrity invested in providing you with the best quality seed available and then specifically and carefully sorting it to exceptionally high standards.

  • • Hybrid corn is made in the seed production field when pollen from "male" rows reaches ears on detasseled "female" rows. When detasseling is not complete, the female self-pollinates, producing an inbred (usually shorter and less vigorous than hybrid plants). Or if stray pollen reaches a field that is not well isolated, off-types result (often taller than surrounding plants). The effect on the seed purchaser is that a portion of the plants will likely have lower yield potential than the hybrid plants in the field.

  • • Excessive "selfs" and/or runt plants rob available moisture and nutrients from neighboring plants without contributing to yield. The economics tell the story with yield losses of 10, 20 even up to 30 bushels per acre.

    • Whereas many seed companies may accept 95% purity in seed, or 5% of self-pollinated seed, Spangler's AgVenture supersedes the norm striving to deliver 98%+ purity to customers.
